A community platform for collectors — bringing people who care about specific kinds of objects together around their collections, with the social and discovery mechanics that make those communities thrive.

The problem

Collectors — whether of watches, comic books, sneakers, vinyl, vintage cameras, or rare prints — share a peculiar isolation. The objects they care about are highly specific, the communities are scattered across forums, Discord servers, Reddit threads, and Instagram, and the discovery mechanics never quite fit. Existing social platforms aren't designed around the collection itself; they're designed around posts.

Memoa is the platform built specifically for collectors and the objects they curate.

The approach

We worked with Memoa to design and build a community platform where the collection is a first-class object — not just a profile decoration. The work covered the full product lifecycle:

  • Product strategy and UX research — understanding how different collector communities actually behave, what discovery looks like for them, what social mechanics drive sustained engagement.
  • UI design and prototyping — a visual language that puts the objects front and center.
  • Mobile-first build — the app where collectors actually live.
  • Backend and infrastructure — to support social graph, content, search, and the discovery features that make collections legible to other collectors.

The result

Memoa is live at memoa.app. The platform brings collectors together around their collections.
